CONSCIOUS CANNABIS
Psychotherapy Group

An online psychotherapy group for adults 25+ in Oregon or California who already use cannabis and want to explore a more mindful, embodied, and intentional way of working with the plant.

Co-facilitated by Lani Lee, LMFT, and Kip Williams, LMFT

Since cannabis was legalized for adult use in Oregon and California, more adults are using cannabis than ever before. Many people are drawn to this plant because it brings relief, creativity, pleasure, embodiment, connection, or insight. Over time, though, that relationship can drift into unconscious patterns that feel automatic, habitual, or misaligned with your deeper intentions and goals.

The Conscious Cannabis Psychotherapy Group offers an opportunity to explore cannabis not simply as a way to relax or escape, but as a catalyst for greater awareness, healing, and personal growth. Rather than focusing on changing behavior, this group is about cultivating a deeper relationship with your body, emotions, and nervous system—supporting greater intention, self-awareness, and choice in how you connect with cannabis.

  • Open to adults 25+ in OR or CA

  • 6 90-minute group therapy sessions

  • 2 3-hour Conscious Cannabis group journeys

  • Small group of 6-10 participants

  • All sessions take place online via Zoom

  • Winter 2026/2027 (dates TBD)

WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE TOGETHER

AUTHENTIC CONNECTION

Healing happens in relationship. Discover the power of being seen, heard, and supported within a community grounded in presence, compassion, and mutual respect.

COMPASSIONATE INQUIRY

Explore freely and welcome everything. Get curious about your relationship with cannabis—not to judge it or fix it, but to better understand yourself through it.

MINDFULNESS
+ SOMATIC SKILLS

Awareness is a practice. Develop practical skills through breath, sensation, and movement to deepen your relationship with yourself and support meaningful change.

GUIDED GROUP
JOURNEYS

Experience is the best teacher. Join two therapist-led Conscious Cannabis journeys that weave together mindfulness, body awareness, music, and group integration.

A Guided Conscious Cannabis Group Journey is an immersive 3-hour therapeutic experience that invites you to explore cannabis as more than a recreational substance—as a catalyst for greater presence, embodied awareness, and self-discovery. Within a carefully held therapeutic container, you'll be guided through mindfulness meditation and somatic practices, supported by curated music and periods of silence, creating space to encounter yourself with curiosity, compassion, and openness. The experience is then integrated through personal reflection and group sharing, supporting healing that extends beyond the journey itself. These experiences will take place live and online via Zoom, and only after careful screening and preparation.

IS THIS GROUP RIGHT FOR YOU?

The Conscious Cannabis Psychotherapy Group is for adults 25+ in Oregon or California who want to integrate mindfulness, embodiment, and personal growth into their relationship with cannabis. This is not a substance use treatment program. Our approach meets you where you are without assuming there is something “wrong” with your cannabis use. Rather than telling you what your relationship with cannabis should be, we’ll begin with curiosity and respect for your lived experience and help you cultivate self-attunement and choice from there.

This group may be a good fit if you:

  • already use cannabis and feel curious about how you’re relating to it

  • don't necessarily want to quit, but want to use more intentionally

  • are interested in mindfulness, somatics, spirituality, or personal growth

This group might not be the right fit if you:

  • are looking for a substance use treatment program for cannabis

  • have certain health conditions (e.g., cardiovascular conditions or severe hypertension)

  • are living with serious mental illness or untreated traumatic stress

Learn more about Lani.

In addition to being licensed psychotherapists, Lani and Kip are both credentialed Mindfulness-Based Psychedelic Therapists through the Medicinal Mindfulness Psychedelic Therapy Training Program, with specialized training in Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy. We share a foundation in somatic, relational, and transpersonal therapeutic orientations. As stewards of cannabis-assisted healing within the scope of our professional license, our unique approach blends traditional plant medicine wisdom with the ethics and trauma-informed care of modern clinical practice.

We believe that healing happens in relationships where people feel seen, respected, and safe enough to be authentic. As two anti-racist white therapists, we recognize that access to healing has not been equitable, and that the history of cannabis in the United States is deeply intertwined with racism, stigma, and criminalization. We are committed to creating an inclusive, trauma-sensitive, and liberatory space where diverse identities are welcomed, and where everyone is invited to explore their lived experience with curiosity, dignity, and respect.
